Instagram engagement is something I found difficult.
And in some ways, I still do! I think a lot of us can relate to that. But I’ve been learning as I go and I’ve found some key ingredients in changing my Instagram engagement entirely. And they don’t cost money, nor do I need to buy my following. So I’d call that a win-win! The first thing to remember is that you need to post exactly what you want, and be completely yourself. This is the most important because I personally have faked it before and honestly I think your followers can almost sense when its fake. And who wants to live out a completely fake life online anyway? Regardless of how many followers you have, you want to bring an audience to yourself that will be following you for who you are. That way when you make content you are posting to followers who actually enjoy what you have to say! So with that being said, here are my two newest discoveries:
So how have I increased my engagement?
Here’s what I’ve learned. Simply posting great content and using amazing hashtags just isn’t cutting it anymore. I thought I would just post, and the followers would pour into my page. Not so much. I was feeling defeated to be completely honest. I wondered why literally no one was seeing my content, and how I could make people see it more without paying for ads. Here’s what I’ve started doing differently: First of all, engage on Instagram like your life depends on it. Seriously. At least 5 times a day I am on there searching hashtags relevant to what I post, and liking, following, and commenting like crazy. I get a ton of engagement back on my page and well over half of it is not from the people I first engaged with.
It’s other users who see my comments or my likes, etc. I have genuinely found that doing this significantly changed my Instagram game entirely. Its like getting the ball rolling. And once the ball is moving, it just keeps rolling faster and faster! I’ve noticed my engagement growing slightly almost every day in different ways be it from new followers, to messages, likes or comments. Any type of interaction on your Instagram page is engagement and the more you get, the more it seems to snowball. It takes time and doesn’t happen over night, but it will happen! Stay positive and stick to it!
Last, but not least:
Pinterest. Link back to your Instagram in the photo you’ve posted. I never realized how much Pinterest would help me until I started using it as a business account! I’ve only just started using it and I already get around 1.8k views a month. I didn’t really believe that Pinterest would make such an impact but once I learned how to use it well I am regretting not doing it a little sooner. I simply post the image I used on Instagram (Or my blog, or wherever I want to be linking back to) and then attach the link! If it’s an eye catching photo, you are super likely to get a few views on it and maybe even some re-pins. Using Pinterest has changed the game for me! Which, for a lot of people is probably super obvious and I am probably late to the party, but I have arrived nonetheless! Haha!
