Tired, unmotivated, and just existing.
I have felt like this plenty of times. Sometimes it seems like the weather can affect it, other time it feels like it just comes and goes. I used to worry that it was just me feeling this way. It’s a really awful feeling, thinking you might be alone in something while everyone else continues on with these seemingly “amazing” lives. I soon realised though, that everyone has these moments, and I shouldn’t shame myself for them. Nor should I believe my life always has to be this constant spiral of excitement that never ends. Life can get dull. And that’s okay.
Enjoy a long, hot bath? Or reading a great book? Taking a walk? Try doing something that helps you relax. Give yourself a moment to rejuvenate, even if it’s a small one. Allow yourself to relax and focus on being in that single moment, free of any other thoughts. I’ve learnt this vert recently and it has truly made a difference.
Get up, and get moving
Get out of bed or off the couch. Have some food, or do some things around the house. Get outside and run some errands. Breathe in the fresh air! Sometimes even just getting up and moving around can make you feel a little more awake and motivate you to get something done, even if it’s small. If I’m really feeling in a slump, getting outside to see a little sunshine (or snow if you are like me, and live where it’s winter 7 months of the year). I’ll even just drive to get groceries or pick up a coffee. It just feels nice to change my scenery and move around. It doesn’t have to be drastic to make a difference!
